Northwestern defeats Dordt 8-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Northwestern scored the first three runs of the game and never trailed in an 8-1 win over the Defenders on Wednesday in Sioux Center.
The Defenders allowed three runs on four hits in the third inning but answered with a run in the bottom of the third with Taylor Neuroth scoring on the second error of the inning on the visitors.
Northwestern added a run in the fourth, two in the fifth and two more in the sixth for an 8-1 win.
The Defeneders had two runners on in the fifth inning but couldn’t get the timely hit.
Dordt had five hits—all were singles.
Taylor Neuroth had two singles and Chris O’Connor had a single.
Isaac Vander Haart took the loss and went five innings with six runs given up, one walk and one strikeout.
Cole Vande Vegte pitched in relief and went two innings and was charged with two runs, three walks and one strikeout.
