Recap

Dordt competed at the USD Twilight event on Tuesday, April 23 and started a busy week of competition at Vermillion, South Dakota.

The meet was highlighted by the Defender women getting a season best 400 meter hurdle run by Anmarie Stuit as she met the automatic standard for National Meet qualification with a 1:02.17.

Sarah De Haan also hit the auto standard again in the high jump by clearing 5-7.

Ike Van Kempen limited his activity to the hammer throw and he threw 179-00 and placed sixth in a competitive field.

Jacob Vander Plaats and Jeff Stellingwerf both finished first in the steeplechase and javelin respectively.  Vander Plaats clocked a 10:36.91 and Stellingwerf had a 177-8 distance.

A limited number of athletes will compete at the Mount Marty Meet on Wednesday, April 24 and several athletes will compete at the Drake Relays beginning Wednesday with the multi-events and continuing through Saturday.
