(Friday, February 8; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defender women’s basketball team is no. 12 in the most recent NAIA Division II Coaches’ Poll released Tuesday, February 5.
The Defenders are currently 19-8 and moved up in the poll two spots with 201 points in the voting. Five of Dordt’s losses are to teams in the top-five of the poll and seven are against other GPAC teams in the top-14 of the national poll.
The Defenders tied a program record for season wins with a road victory over Jamestown (North Dakota) on Wednesday night and host Midland and Briar Cliff in back to back GPAC games on February 9 and 13.
Concordia remains the no. 1 team in the poll while Northwestern is no. 2 and Dakota Wesleyan holds the no. 5 spot. Morningside is no. 14 and Hastings completes the GPAC representation in the poll at no. 24.
The next poll will be released on Tuesday, February 19.
