Blades Conclude Regular Season

On the Docket…

Dordt will face Creighton this weekend with a Friday, February 8 game at home at 8:00 and the Blades go to Omaha on Saturday.  The Friday game will be available on video at https://livestream.com/dordtcollegewebcast2/hockey .

The Foe…

The Jays are 8-6 this season and this is the last scheduled pair of games for Creighton this season.

The Jays have allowed 54 goals this year and have scored 61. Branden Chamberlain has scored nine goals with 10 assists while Matthew Kocourek has eight goals scored with 12 assists. Isaac Lamppa has scored seven goals with 12 assists and Mason Carstens scored four goals with 11 assists.

Ben Roberts has played 387 minutes in goal with a 2.48 goals allowed average and has 230 saves.  Roberts is 5-1 in the pipes this season. Matt Knuth is 2-3 with 296 minutes played and he has 177 saves and 27 goals allowed.

The Blades…

The Blades are 1-12-1 this season after losing a pair of games to Nebraska last weekend.

The Blades are led by Mark Schouten’s nine goals this season and he has three assists. Caleb Groot has five goals and five assists. Seth Vandergugten has four goals and six assists and Rylan Brue has a team high eight assists.  Eli Visscher, Rylan Brue, Jaren Brue, Seth Vandergugten, Sam De Jong and Keaton De Jong all have three goals scored. 

David Burns has played seven games in goal with 436 minutes and 332 saves. Bryce Andry has played seven games with 329 minutes played and has 198 saves and Samuel Kingma has played 208 minutes in six games and has 136 saves.

Last Time…

The Blades lost two with Nebraska on Friday and Saturday, February 1 and 2 by scores of 6-1 and 4-3.  In the 4-3 loss the Blades got goals from Schouten, Koomans and Keaton De Jong.

The Jays split their two games with Nebraska on Friday and Saturday, January 25 and 26.  The Jays lost the Friday game 7-5 but bounced back to defeat the Huskers on Saturday 5-4 with Chamberlain scoring two goals.

What’s Next…

This will conclude the regular season for the Blades.
