Dordt is scheduled to travel to O’Fallon, Missouri for three games on Thursday, February 14 starting at 11:00. All three games will be seven inning contests. The games were originally scheduled to be a pair of doubleheaders but the schedule was adjusted to allow the teams to get the games in with better weather anticipated. Hannibal LaGrange is 2-2 this season and split with Dallas Christian and Ecclesia on February 1 and 2. Hannibal LaGrange is a member of the American Midwest Conference and is led by Chet Merritt with a .462 batting average and six hits this season with three runs batted in. Edwin Betancourt is batting .444 with four hits and five runs batted in and Timothy Miles is batting .429 with six hits and a double and a triple.
Justin French went seven innings for a win earlier this season and has a 2.57 earned run average while Graysan Peneston got a win with two innings of relief.
Hannibal LaGrange was 12-37 last season. Miles had a .311 batting average and Merritt batted .274 last year with four doubles and 21 runs batted in.
The Defenders were 10-26 last season and 7-19 in the GPAC.
Chris Schrieber batted .247 with 24 hits and 14 runs batted in. Isaac Vanderhart had a 2-3 pitching record with a 3.42 earned runs average while Luke Drooger and Isaac Buteyn all had two wins each with Drooger leading the team in innings pitched with 44 and he had 31 strikeouts.
This is the first meeting between these two teams on record.
Dordt will travel to McPherson, Kansas to play four games next weekend against Central Christian on February 22 and 23.
There will be 13 games played this weekend involving GPAC teams.
