(Thursday, February 14; Sioux City, Iowa) The 2019 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Cheer and Dance All-Conference Team has been selected.  This is the second year that the GPAC is naming All-Conference performers for Cheer and Dance. Claire Kredit (Freshman; Sioux Center, Iowa) earned honorable mention honors after this weekend’s competition in Hastings where the Defenders finished fifth.

Kayla Inlay from Morningside was selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cheer Athlete-of-the-Year and Shaffrea Hopson from Midland has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Dance Athlete-of-the-Year

To be selected to the All-Conference teams the student-athletes needed to perform a set of skills as outlined by the NAIA Cheer and Dance Coaches’ Handbook.  A minimum score on these skills (as judged) was required for selection to the teams.

Mikaelah Molifua from Hastings was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cheer Coach-of-the-Year.  Alisha Steckler from Morningside was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Dance Coach-of-the-Year.

Dordt is hosting a dance competition on Saturday, February 16 before competing in the NAIA Regional Qualifier on February 23.
