(Friday, March 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Luke Vander Horst, a senior at Denver Christian (Colorado), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.
Vander Horst is listed 6-9 and averaged 5.6 points with 6.2 rebounds per game last season with just under a block per game.
"We are excited to have Luke join our program. His size will be really good for this program, and we can’t wait to see how he develops both on and off the floor," said Dordt basketball coach Brian Van Haaften.
Luke is the son of Keith and LuAnne Vander Horst of Denver, Colorado. He plans to study Engineering at Dordt.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
