Alayna Allen is 6-6 with a 2.87 earned run average and she has struck out 69 batters in 83 innings of work. Lanae Shiley is 1-11 in 62 innings pitched and she has 32 strikeouts.
The Defenders are 15-18 this season and 7-9 in the GPAC.
Rachel Evavold is batting .388 with 33 hits and 10 doubles and two homeruns with a .576 slugging percentage. Marissa Vanden Berg is batting .287 with seven doubles and two homeruns and Hailey Heeringa is good for 28 hits with .272 batting average and 12 runs batted in. Carley De Roin has three homeruns with 13 runs batted in and leads the team in homeruns.
Tianna Soodsma is 7-6 with a 2.39 earned run average and she has pitched 102 innings with 59 strikeouts. Rachel Evavold is 5-5 with 38 strikeouts and 58 innings pitched.
Dordt and Briar Cliff played on April 25 in Sioux Center and Dordt was a 2-1 winner in eight innings in game one and 7-3 in game two. Rachel Evavold was the winning pitcher in game one and allowed five hits and Tianna Soodsma pitched the second game and struck out three with eight hits allowed. Hannah Sikkema had four hits in the extra inning game and Hailey Heeringa had three hits and three runs batted in.
The Defenders will be back at home on April 26 against Jamestown before going to Concordia on Saturday, April 27.
