Sioux Center, Iowa: On Monday, Jan 29, at 7:30, TriOmaha will perform at the B.J. Haan Auditorium at Dordt College.

The trio is made up of three members of the Omaha Symphony: Heather Baxter on oboe, Alyssa Griggs on flute, and Christi Zuniga on piano. They will perform a variety of pieces by composers such as Goosens, Ibert, Booza, and Mancini. In addition to the recital, they will speak about the importance of music and music education.

Heather Baxter is an oboe instructor at Dordt. She joined the Omaha symphony in 2015, after performing with orchestras throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. She received her doctorate in oboe performance at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Christi Zuninga is the Principal Keyboardist with the Omaha Symphony. She earned her master’s in chamber music and accompanying from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Alyssa Griggs has taken first place in a variety of flute competitions, and serves as solo piccolo for the Omaha Symphony. She received her master’s from the New England Conservatory and has performed at Carnegie Hall as Principal Flute for the New York Festival Orchestra.
